You gave Mike new hope for his future!
When neighbors in need come to The Bowery Mission, they can't believe how much they receive! Food, shelter, love and a chance to turn their lives around.
You gave it all to Mike, and he is grateful, especially after the cycle of addiction knocked him down.
Mike was always a hard worker, proud that he could provide for himself. But when alcohol gained control over his life, Mike's money went straight to feeding his addiction, instead of to groceries or bills. Eventually, he was kicked out of his home and forced to live on the streets.
Mike tried a few recovery programs but nothing seemed to stick. When someone told Mike about The Bowery Mission, he decided to see what it was all about.
Physically and spiritually hungry, Mike wasn't expecting more than a cot and three meals. He thought he'd put in his time, get sober and leave. Instead, thanks to the gifts and prayers of friends like you, Mike found what he'd been missing all along.
On his journey to recovery, Mike received more than food and shelter. The Bowery Mission's recovery programs helped him improve his whole life. "I believe in God more and more every day," Mike shares. Your gifts gave him freedom from addiction and a new plan for his future.
"By the grace of God I found my place," Mike says. "I'm not a loner anymore."
Your generosity can give more men and women like Mike a hot, nutritious meal and renewed hope for the future. Thank you!
